Testimonial

We are thrilled with our new website! Gord and his team at Eldoren Consulting effortlessly worked within our extremely tight timeline so that our website could be launched before the New Year. After our initial meeting, Gord came back to us with multiple options to choose from, each capturing our vision from a different design perspective. In the end we decided on the clean lines of the site we have today. I would recommend Eldoren Consulting to anyone looking for a professional team who will work with you, not just for you.

Thanks Gord!

FEATURED BOOK

The Bathrobe Millionaire: Confessions of an Unemployed Job-Hopper Who Made a Fortune without Work, Risk, or Khakis- By Jason Yelowitz

The Bathrobe Millionaire - By Jason Yelowitz

Overall thoughts - a Great, well written book. Lots of awesome, HONEST advice. The techniques that Jason uses are very innovative and he doesn't hold back. And his advice sprinkled throughout the book is priceless and well worth it.

The book is very well written and seems to flow really well. If this is Jason's first attempt at writing a book, he nailed it. The flow from his growing up to the early businesses and then out to the current business is smooth. The chapters reminded me of reading an addicting Steven King book....in that you get the end of a chapter and you figure "hey, I got time to read another chapter".I simply couldn't put it down.

The "honesty factor" really rings true. By that I mean, the book really comes across as your best friend explaining a process and lessons learned. I didn't sense or feel any hype factor at all. Thats critical as many people that write stuff now go way overboard.

The lessons learned at the end of each chapter are good ones and thought provoking.

The book comes across as credible and clearly spells out many of the concepts Jason wanted to share. I never found myself wondering what the heck he meant.

Value - its certainly worth the price (I bought the e-book version). I will buy the paperback ( and recommend others do) so I can write notes in it....its a working guide.

Although I don't tend to read something and immediately go out and try to repeat that business, I found that in reading, I had many new, creative ideas come to mind as I was going through your book.

I think personally this book is something EVERYONE will want to read. Don't assume that the title suggests its easy. What Jason details in the books is very valuable. I would place some of his advice up in the same category as leading author Tim Ferris. I feel that strongly about what Jason has offered up readers.

Look at More: A Proven Approach to Innovation, Growth, and Change
by Andy Stefanovich (Hardcover)

Why does real innovation elude so many companies, including those with the best technology, the cheapest resources, and even chief innovation officers? The problem is that they lack inspiration. Inspiration—as defined and outlined in this book—is a discipline (not to be confused with the real but short-lived burst of energy that sometimes occurs after quarterly earnings reports or the arrival of a charismatic new leader). It is a systematic approach that, when applied consistently, brings long-term, sustainable results.

Total Recall: How the E-Memory Revolution Will Change Everything
by C. Gordon Bell

At Microsoft, computer science pioneer Bell has worked with senior researcher Gemmell for years on a project called True Recall, which will allow people to create a "digital diary or e-memory continuously," something they predict will "change what it means to be human" as fundamentally as language development and the invention of writing. Based upon further development and integration of three already-extant technology streams (digital recording devices, memory storage and search engines), the authors have worked toward this "third step" in the development of human memory for a decade and a half.

Built to Sell: Creating a Business That Can Thrive Without You
by John Warrillow (Hardcover)

A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it.

According to John Warrillow, the number one mistake entrepreneurs make is to build a business that relies too heavily on them. Thus, when the time comes to sell, buyers aren't confident that the company-even if it's profitable-can stand on its own.

To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency. Alex turns to Ted, an entrepreneur and old family friend, who encourages Alex to pursue three criteria to make his business sellable:

* Teachable: focus on products and services that you can teach employees to deliver.
* Valuable: avoid price wars by specializing in doing one thing better than anyone else.
* Repeatable: generate recurring revenue by engineering products that customers have to repurchase often.

Predictably Irrational, Revised and Expanded Edition: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions

by Dan Ariely (Paperback)

Why do our headaches persist after we take a one-cent aspirin but disappear when we take a fifty-cent aspirin?

Why do we splurge on a lavish meal but cut coupons to save twenty-five cents on a can of soup?

When it comes to making decisions in our lives, we think we're making smart, rational choices. But are we?

In this newly revised and expanded edition of the groundbreaking New York Times bestseller, Dan Ariely refutes the common assumption that we behave in fundamentally rational ways. From drinking coffee to losing weight, from buying a car to choosing a romantic partner, we consistently overpay, underestimate, and procrastinate. Yet these misguided behaviors are neither random nor senseless. They're systematic and predictable—making us predictably irrational.
